Memorial Service for Marion McVeigh

The Memorial Service for Marion McVeigh, wife of retired pastor, Rev. Malcolm McVeigh, will be held on Sunday, November 18,2018 at 3 PM at Cedar Grove UMC.  Marion was not only a pastor’s wife, but she was a missionary, traveling the world.  She passed away earlier this year, but her memory lives on. Please join us as we celebrate her life.

Members of Cedar Grove are being asked to bring a covered main meal dish to share at the repast after the service.  Desserts are being brought by her family.  Please let Sue know what you will be able to provide. Call the church number for more information.

The passing of Lorraine Crawford…

We received news last night of the passing of Lorraine Crawford.  She was a long time, active member of Cedar Grove UMC.  She moved from Toms River to Vermont a little over a year ago to live with her daughter.  We don’t have details, however, we ask for prayers for her soul, and for her family.  If you would like to send a note of condolence to her family, please call the church for her daughter’s address.  Rest in peace, Lorraine….

World Communion Sunday

Sunday, October 7th is World Communion Sunday!  This day is meant to highlight the fact that as Christians from around the world, we come together as one to celebrate the Lord’s Supper which joins us all together as believers.  Pastor Rene has asked that we wear or bring something that represents our own personal ethnic backgrounds in order to show that from our ancestors, we truly are from around the world as we gather together in our little white church. A scarf, a piece of jewelry, or a significant memento are suggestions of items to bring.  It will be interesting and a joy to discover our worldly roots!  See you on Sunday at 11 AM!
