Boscov’s Department Store is sponsoring a “Friends Helping Friends” shopping day on Wednesday, October 16th from 8 AM to 11 PM at the Ocean County Mall. You purchase a shopping pass for $5.00 and can enter drawings as well as get discounts up to 25% off on most merchandise. Many of their items will already have deep discounts. With the holidays quickly approaching, this is a great way to shop! Every $5.00 goes to benefit a participating non-profit group. Wreath making for the Fall
The United Methodist Women of Cedar Grove are hosting a few fundraisers this fall. The first are sessions to make Autumn Wreaths. The cost is $25 and will cover the cost of supplies. The first session will be held on Sunday, September 29th immediately after church. The second date will be on Sunday, October 13th. For more information, see Colleen at church. Toms River – Robert C. Hildick, age 70, of Toms River, passed away Sunday July 28, 2019.
Rob was the owner and proprietor of Hildick Construction for 35 years prior to his retirement.
He coached at Toms River Little Indians for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Letty Hildick, sons Drew and wife Dawn, Brett, and Jayson; his mother Nancy Hildick, brothers Gary and Richard. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Robert, Johnathan, and Alexis. Visitation will be Thursday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In Lieu Of flowers the Family requests you make a Donation to the American Heart Association in Robert’s memory

Collections for the Hope House!!
At this time of year, we are collecting items for children to use at school. This includes backpacks, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, pens, lined paper, rulers, notebooks, erasers and other items that are typically used during a school day. Please purchase and bring to church NO LATER THAN AUGUST 11 as the House of Hope will be giving them to local families in need later that week. Thank you for your generosity as we help our neighbors!!
Slight change in our services for 2 weeks
On Sunday, August 4th, our Leader for the day will be John W. There will not be a communion service that day. Pastor Jackson will be away and return for the August 11th service and he will be offering communion then. In the meantime, if you have any issues or concerns, please contact Sue or Gene. Thank you!

Pastor Rene Yon Pak came to our little white church five years ago and has brought us a lot of thoughtful insights, encouragement, hugs, and love. Her time with us is ending on June 30th. She is being transferred to Lakehurst UMC while maintaining her ministry at Faith Community UMC in Bayville. A luncheon was held in her honor following church on Sunday, June 23rd. We will be forever grateful for her time spent with us. Thank you, Pastor Rene, and may God Bless You during your new ventures!
Welcome Pastor Wade, Meg and Taylor Jackson!!!
Pastor Wade Jackson will be taking his role at Cedar Grove UMC effective July 1st, 2019. This is a reminder about the welcome luncheon on Saturday, June 29th at 1 PM AND the change in the time of service beginning on June 30th from 11 AM to 9 AM. This service will be a Hymn Sing. Our fellowship will continue after the service. Pastor Wade also plans to arrive at the church before service in order to meet with and share fellowship with “early birds”!
